The Playground Gets Even Tougher...An Article on Bullying

Here is a link to an interesting article about bullying (especially focusing on relational aggressive bullying among young girls). It provides some good insights into the world of bullying and how it may be affecting your child/children. Often times, bullying is a cycle...in which there is not just one victim and bully, but each child involved often plays both roles at some point or another.

Teaching respect begins at home and at an early age. And in today's society where there is so much pressure for kids to grow up so fast, we must be sure to help guide them in developing into a respectful and mature young person, while also allowing them to be kids...we need to make sure that they understand it's not okay to treat others as if they are less important or less special because of trivial things such as what someone wears or how someone looks.

I hope you will take a minute to read this article so you can help be part of the solution to a problem that no child should have to deal with. Bullying is NOT a normal part of growing up! Never has been...Never will be!
